J's Gallery
It's not only about how you started, but where you're heading!
My first photoshoot collaboration was in 2014 during a hair show in Atlanta, GA. I was randomly walking and visiting the booths when a guy approached me, to ask if I would be interested in posing for him. I made such a spontaneous decision, and it felt quite natural and exciting. However, I did not take it seriously. I have been to a few castings and got selected. Thus, I have done runways.
The part that I regret the most in my journey is not keeping pictures or videos. In my mind, they were just "small gigs from here and there," as a college student. Also, I lacked the mindset of creating or developing multiple streams of outcome. Indeed, I was an entrepreneur and a full-time college student, but not one time I thought about being fully invested in modeling.
There are other reasons that kept me away from the modeling world, such as the lack of trustful mentorship, representation and diversity in states I resided.
Today, I have a more mature mindset and I believe in multitasking in different professional occupations. I am ready to take a new step in the modeling world. I enjoy posing for the launch of new products and collaborating with artist photographers.
